Porsche Malaysia goes Further Together with the inauguration of the new locally assembled Porsche Cayenne

Porsche Malaysia celebrates the launch of the new locally assembled Cayenne. Porsche’s sports car for five epitomises modern luxury and performance with its suite of upgrades, alongside an enhanced local standard equipment specification. A testament to the partnership between Porsche and Sime Darby, the new Porsche Cayenne was officiated by Christopher Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of Sime Darby Auto Performance and Hannes Ruoff, Chief Executive Officer of Porsche Asia Pacific at the launch event, held at The International Gallery at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club.

Porsche Malaysia, represented by Sime Darby Auto Performance, launches the new locally assembled Porsche Cayenne today. To write the next chapter of the Cayenne’s success story in Malaysia, the launch for the luxury SUV was held at The International Gallery at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club – the site where previous generations of the Cayenne were also unveiled.

Porsche’s iconic sports car for five is thoroughly refined for more luxury and performance, featuring a highly digitalised display and control concept, new chassis technology and an enhanced local specification.

“Just months after making its global debut, the new locally assembled Cayenne arrives in Malaysia – underlining the importance of this market and the wider ASEAN region,” said Hannes Ruoff, Chief Executive Officer of Porsche Asia Pacific. “The new Cayenne features one of the most extensive product upgrades in the history of Porsche, and with this enhanced specification made specifically for Malaysia, we hope to fulfill more sports car dreams for our customers and fans here.“

“We are proud to launch the new locally assembled Cayenne, providing a range of enhanced standard features specifically catered to our customers in Malaysia. The Cayenne is one of the most popular luxury SUVs in the region, proving its credentials time and time again through strong customer demand,” shared Christopher Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of Sime Darby Auto Performance.

Comprehensively upgraded – the new locally assembled Cayenne

Since it was first introduced in 2002, Porsche’s sports car for five, the Cayenne, has become an icon in its own right, establishing itself as an important member of the Porsche model line up.

The new locally assembled Cayenne launches in Malaysia with an enhanced standard equipment package including Adaptive Cruise Control, Soft-close doors and the Sport Chrono Package. Elevated standard equipment levels from the previous locally assembled Cayenne are also retained; for example, the 14-way electric comfort seats with memory package, Porsche crests embossed on the front seat headrests, four-zone climate control and electric roll-up sun blinds for the rear windows remain standard on the new locally assembled Cayenne.

New options to fulfil customer wishes with Porsche Tequipment

At the launch event, Porsche Malaysia announces further personalisation possibilities for the locally assembled Cayenne. Wheel options such as the 21-inch Cayenne Exclusive Design wheels and 22-inch Sport Design wheels are available for order, alongside new and lifestyle- oriented Tequipment accessories such as Rear Seat Entertainment – all to provide enhanced shared experiences for customers to go further, together in the new Cayenne. If the journey heads off-road, there are more Porsche Tequipment accessories to match: these include a roof tent and performance roof box, rear bike carrier options and more.
